About Me
My name is David Arthur. I suppose I would call myself a programmer – well, developer really. Hmm, maybe technologist? How about Computer. Regardless, I spend most of my time working on various software projects whether it be for money, fame, or fun. I come from a scientific computing background, and before that physics. I always considered myself science and maths centered person, and I’m not really sure how I ended up here.
My educational background is a B.S. in Physics, and M.S. in Scientific Computing. One day I will probably go back for a Ph.D, but who knows.
I work for a tech startup based in Los Angeles during the day where I mostly work in Python and PHP. My nights are filled with thesis writing, freelancing, and working on open source projects.
A byproduct of my Master’s thesis is a project I’m hosting on GitHub called EC2MPI. It is a Python script which creates and configures clusters of EC2 instances to use MPI for parallel computing.
Other than spending way to much time at my computer, I enjoy gardening and spending time with my family.
